Milady Awards Educator of the Year at the 14th Annual CEA Convention Milady and The Cosmetology Educators of America (CEA) have named Ms. Laura Wallman, as the Nicholas F. Cimaglia Educator of the Year at the 14th Annual CEA Convention in Orlando, Florida. Laura is the Cosmetology Director at PJ’s College of Cosmetology in Plainfield, Indiana. Laura Wallman has been the Cosmetology Director at PJ’s College of Cosmetology in Plainfield, Indiana since February 1993. She oversees all of the public high school vocational programs and is accountable for four area vocational school departments and the superintendents. Laura has dedicated her professional life to being a devoted teacher. She has enjoyed her 37 years in the cosmetology industry and has owned and operated her own salon. In April 2008, Laura completed the Milady’s Career Institute program and earned her Master Educator certification. The Educator of the Year Award is given annually to one educator who exhibited the most significant contribution towards upgrading professional standards of educational excellence, particularly within the area of student involvement, during the past year. It is co-sponsored by CEA and Milady.

NIC is also the organization that prepares the licensing examinations used by many of these boards to license Nail Technicians and Manicurists.
